SUNYAC Names Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
MEN’S TRACK Co-ATHLETE’s – Geneseo
Lee Berube (Putnam Station, NY/Ticonderoga) and Eddie Novara (Angola, NY/Lake Shore), senior
Seniors Lee Berube and Eddie Novara competed at the Bucknell Open, running against primarily Division I competition. In his first career competitive 10K, Berube placed fourth out of 63 runners in a time of 29:48.95, a new SUNYAC and school record and the fourth best time of the season in Division III. Novara finished third of 125 runners in the 5,000 meters in 14:25.78, which is currently the fastest time posted in Division III this season.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Cortland
Alyson Dalton (Sherrill, NY/V-V-S), senior
Alyson Dalton placed fifth out of 31 runners and was the top Div. III finisher in the 10,000-meter run at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic. Her time of 35:34.23 is currently ranked third nationally in Div. III and is almost five minutes faster than the ECAC qualifying standard.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE – Fredonia
Broncho Rollins (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca), senior
Senior pole vaulter Broncho Rollins won his event Sunday at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. Rollins defeated 25 other vaulters from the three NCAA divisions by clearing 4.95 meters, which converts to a school-record 16' 2”.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE- Cortland
Taylor Hudson (Victor, NY/Victor), freshman
Taylor Hudson finished first out of 36 competitors and set a meet record in the long jump at the Moravian College Coach P Invitational. Her winning jump of 5.80 meters (19 feet, 0.5 inches) is an ECAC qualifier and ranks eighth nationally in Div. III. Hudson also finished fifth in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying height of 1.61 meters (5 feet, 3.25 inches) and was 15th in the 200-meter dash (26.81).
