Amherst College won the men’s title with 134 points while the hosts took the women’s side with 175 points.
The highlight of the meet for the Red Dragons was the performance of senior Sarah Timmons in the 20-lbs. weight throw. Not only did she shatter her own school record in the event by nearly two meters, but she moved from 7th to 1st in Div. III with just over one month out from the National championships.
Timmons won the event with a toss of 18.40 meters (60’-4.50”), which crushed her school record of 16.75 meters (54’-11.50”). Her performance is currently at the top of Div. III by nearly three feet. She also eclipsed the SUNYAC mark of 18.25 meters set by Fredonia's Julie Hopson in winning the 2009 national championship.
Timmons also was third in the shot put with a distance of 11.38 meters (37’-4”).
