USTFCCCA Announces Track and Field All-Academic
Nine members of the SUNYAC men's and women's track and field teams earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team recognition as announced last week.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark in an individual or relay event at some point in either indoor or outdoor seasons. Participation in an NCAA Championship also fulfills the athletic component of All-Academic qualification.
Geneseo seniors Lee Gabler and Bill Juda were the lone conference representatives on the men's team out of the 200 student-athletes from 72 institutions.
A total of 328 female student-athletes representing 102 institutions were recognized and the SUNYAC was led by Cortland with four honorees including Alyson Dalton, Jenna Evarts, Veronica Montrose and Brittani Sahm. Oneonta’s Kacy Boburka, who was the SUNYAC’s outstanding field athlete for both the indoor and outdoor season, and Plattsburgh’s Mahalia Ewers and Amy McCasland were also named to the list.
