Three Runners Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Status
2011 USTFCCCA NCAA Division III All-Academic Cross Country List (Women)
NEW ORLEANS – Three State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women’s cross country runners earned 2011 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Cross Country status, as announced by the USTFCCCA.
New Paltz junior Nichole Wischoff and Cortland senior Alyson Dalton and freshman Bori Tozser were three of the 183 female runners across the country to earn the honor.
The 183 student-athletes represent 96 institutions that compose the group. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Wischoff, who gained All-Region honors by virtue of her 14th-place finish at the 2011 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships, authored a 3.41 cumulative GPA as an international relations major. Wischoff also placed 103rd at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships, clocking a program-record of 22:19.36 in the 6K.
Dalton finished eighth in a field of 256 runners at Regional’s in 22:21.6 to earn all-region for the fourth straight year. She finished fourth in 2012, 20th in 2009 and 19th in 2008. Dalton went on to earn All-American honors for the second straight year with 30th place finish in 21:38.35 at Nationals.
Tozer finished 17th in 22:40.3 at Regional’s and 90th in 22:14.74 at nationals.
