Oneonta Men's Cross country team honored for academics
The SUNY Oneonta men’s cross country team has been recognized for its outstanding performance in the classroom by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) by being named as one of its All-Academic Teams for the 2011 season.
The Red Dragons are earning recognition for a fifth straight time as an All-Academic Team.
The men's cross-country team was the only SUNYAC men’s program to earn the honor and was one of a record number 131 Div. III teams to be recognized. The men compiled an overall GPA of 3.16 this past fall semester.
To be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academ¬ic Team award, a team must have competed and compiled a score at its NCAA Regional meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 cumulative grade point average as a team.
