Braun and Berube Named Atlantic Region Runners of the Year: 27 Earn All-Region
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday Nov. 15 the winners of USTFCCCA Region Athlete of the Year honors for the 2011 cross country season in Division III as voted by the division's coaches.
SUNY Geneseo senior Lee Berube and Plattsburgh senior Stefanie Braun were named the Atlantic Region runners of the year.

Berube, captured the Atlantic region's individual title last Saturday for the second straight year, two weeks after running to his individual crown at the SUNYAC championship meet. Paced by Berube, the Knights won the conference championship and finished second at the regional meet.
He has piloted Geneseo to the No. 10 ranking in the most recent USTFCCCA national poll. The Geneseo men are making their ninth straight trip to the NCAA Division III championships on Saturday November 19 in Winnecone, Wis.
Braun is a double post-season winner as well. She won the SUNYAC title on Oct. 29 leading Plattsburgh to second place, its best finish since 1999. And on Nov. 12 she won the individual Regional title by four-tenths of a second to lead the Cardinals to a third-place finish. Plattsburgh earned an at-large big into the national meet for the second straight year and moved up five spots to No. 11 in the final USTFCCA Regular Season Division III poll.
In addition, the USTFCCCA announced its All-Region awards for Division III cross country. Athletes of member schools that finished in the top 35 individually at the regional race earned the honor. The SUNYAC had 12 men and 15 women earn the All-Region.
