Four Teams Receive Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team honors
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women’s cross country teams with All-Academic Team honors, as announced Wednesday Feb. 15 by the association.
Those earning USTFCCCA honors from the SUNYAC included: SUNY Oneonta (3.37 Team GPA), Oswego (3.31 GPA), Geneseo (3.30 GPA) and SUNY New Paltz (3.21 GPA). For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average through the 2011 fall semester.
A total of 187 Division III women’s programs from 38 conferences received the USTFCCCA’s All-Academic Team honors this year. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) led all conferences with 10 members earning All-Academic honors.
