SUNYAC SAAC Annual Meeting Centers on Special Olympics of New York
The SUNYAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its annual meeting on Tuesday (Sept. 27) at Holiday Inn- Liverpool, NY. Each of the SUNYAC's 10 member institutions were represented with student-athletes and advisors.
The group's agenda was focused on the partnership between SUNYAC and Special Olympics New York. President and CEO of SONY, Neal Johnson, welcomed the group and gave an overview of what Special Olympics can do for SUNYAC and what SUNYAC means to Special Olympics. Those in attendance then had an opportunity to hear from three Special Olympic Athletes; Raymell Temaungil, Kayla McKeon and Peter Dailey, about their experiences as competitors representing New York and the USA.
During the lunch break schools broke up into three regions to meet with representatives to discuss ways each school can become involved with Special Olympics on their campuses.
