2016 Womens Indoor Track and Field Awards Released
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is honored to recognize this seasons Outstanding Female Track Athlete of the Year, Female Field Athlete of the Year, and Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year awards as voted on by the conference coaches.
The Outstanding Female Track Athlete of the Year goes to Oneonta's Rachael Shine (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa). The Outstanding Female Field Athlete of the Year is Brockport's Savannah Cook (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post West), and the Coach of the Year goes to Oneonta's Angelo Posillico.
Shine capped off her fantastic junior season by taking home three gold medals and helping Oneonta capture their first-ever SUNYAC track and field championship. At the SUNYAC track and field championships she set a conference record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.25. Shine also took home the gold in the one mile run, and anchored a dramatic comeback in the 4x400 meter relay where Oneonta won by 6 hundredths of a second. Shine earned All-Conference first team honors for her finishes in both the 800-meter run and the one mile run.
Cook finished off her Brockport career with one gold and one silver at the SUNYAC track and field championships. Cook took gold in the shot put, with a throw of 12.27 meters. She finished second in the weight throw with a distance of 15.81 meters. Cook earned first team All-Conference honors in the shot put.

Oneonta's Angelo Posillico takes home the Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year honor after leading the Red Dragons to their first-ever SUNYAC title. The Red Dragons notched a total of 142.5 points to bring the title to Oneonta. This is the first SUNYAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year award for Posillico since becoming the head track and field coach in 2013. He was honored as the SUNYAC Men's Coach of the Year last year.
The 2015-16 Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Teams were announced Saturday following the SUNYAC Championship meet. Click here to see the complete list (PDF).
