SUNYAC Athletes of the Week Announced
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced the athletes of the week for the week ending Jan 16. All winter sports sponsored by the conference were back in action and had some impressive performances.
ICE HOCKEY PLAYER - Morrisville
Bobby Cass, senior forward
Morrisville State senior Bobby Cass (Burlington, ONT/Welland Jr. Canadian) was involved in each scoring play for the Mustangs in the 4-3 overtime loss to #15 Neumann College. Cass tallied two power play goals to even the score each time against the Knights. He assisted on the other Morrisville score in the second period to give the Mustangs their only lead of the game before Neumann tied the score at the end of the period to force overtime after a scoreless third.

Kevin Carr, freshman
Freshman Kevin Carr (Unionville, ONT/Unionville) earns SUNYAC goalie and rookie of the week honors after leading Buffalo State to a 2-1 week. He stopped 69 of 72 shots faced in the three-game stretch playing 182 minutes between the pipes. Carr posted 20 saves in the 2-1 overtime loss to #18 Hobart and then followed up with 20 and 29 saves, respectively in back-to-back games against Johnson & Wales. He earned his second career shutout in the second game verse the Wildcats.

Chad Burridge, junior forward
Chad Burridge (Hannibal, NY/Hannibal) averaged 20.3 points in a week that saw Oswego State post a record of 2-1 and move into sole possession of first place in the SUNYAC standings. In a 75-73 double-overtime loss at Oneonta, Burridge scored 27 points on 55 percent shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds. He posted another double-double in the Lakers' 73-60 win over Potsdam with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Burridge ended the week with a 22-point performance against Plattsburgh in a 72-65 win. Oswego State improved to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the league.

Melissa Graham, sophomore guard
Sophomore Melissa Graham (Orchard Park, NY/Mt. Mercy) scored a career-high 25 points on 8-14 from the field, 4-7 from the arc and 5-6 from the line to lead the Knights past previously SUNYAC-unbeaten Oneonta, 71-66 on Saturday, to take sole possession of first place in the conference standings. She also added five rebounds and four assists. Against New Paltz, Graham took part in the final play of the game advancing the ball up the court before her teammate scored the winning basket with one second left to give Geneseo the dramatic 54-52 win. It was the first conference loss for the Hawks as the Knights are now the last unbeaten team in the conference and are on a current six-game win streak. Graham finished with six points, nine rebounds and two blocks against the Hawks.

Ken Pink, junior
Ken Pink (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) won four events and was part of two winning relays to lead the Blue Wave to wins over RIT and New Paltz as he won the 200 IM (2:00.95), 400 IM (4:23.57), 100 breast (1:01.01) and the 200 breast (2:15.43) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:37.82) and 400 medley (3:37.12). The win over New Paltz was the 400th dual meet victory in Geneseo program history.

Ken Pink (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) won four events and was part of two winning relays to lead the Blue Wave to wins over RIT and New Paltz as he won the 200 IM (2:00.95), 400 IM (4:23.57), 100 breast (1:01.01) and the 200 breast (2:15.43) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:37.82) and 400 medley (3:37.12). She set the mark in the 200 IM by just .02 seconds, winning the race with a time of 2:19.37, before smashing the 500 free record by more than four seconds, clocking 5:19.55. She also swam a leg of the winning 200 free relay (1:35.32).

He scored 271.30 in the 1-meter event and 280.77 in the 3-meter event to score 40 points on the day for the Red Dragons. The men finished 6th overall as a team with 163.5 points. His score in the 3-meter event was a school record and missed the NCAA cut by five points.
Kyle Kaznowski, sophomore - Cortland
Kyle Kaznowski (Kingston, NY/Kingston) won the one-meter diving event with a score of 276.30 points in Cortland's 171-127 dual-meet win at Rochester on Friday. The next day, he finished third on the one-meter board with 247.45 points at the eight-team RPI Kumpf Invitational.

Lauryn Kaznowski, graduate
Lauryn Kaznowski (Kingston, NY/Kingston) won two individual events as the Red Dragons defeated host Rochester, 173-127, in dual-meet action. The Red Dragons are now 4-2 with the victory. Kaznowski won on both boards scoring 222.00 points on the one-meter board and narrowly winning the three-meter board with 248.50 points, two points ahead of the runner-up.

Lee Berube (Putnam Station, NY/Ticonderoga) was one of three Knights to qualify for ECACs in the mile run at the RIT Invitational with a winning time of 4:16.47 and he was sixth in the 800 meter run in 2:00.53.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE - Geneseo
Marissa Liberati, sophomore
Sophomore Marissa Liberati (Manchester, NY/Red Jacket) finished second in the mile run in an ECAC time of 5:11.10 at the non-scoring meet at RIT.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE - Geneseo
Nwana Okafor, junior
Nwana Okafor (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) was named the SUNYAC men's indoor field athlete for the second time this season by winning the long jump in an NCAA provisional qualifying distance of 6.96 meters at a non-scoring meet at RIT.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE - Geneseo
Rachel Serpe, sophomore
Geneseo traveled to RIT on Saturday for a non-scoring meet and sophomore Rachel Serpe (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) was one of five Knights to post an ECAC-qualifying performance. She won the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying height of 3.20 meters.
