Geneseo takes 2019 SUNYAC women's cross country crown

MILTON, N.Y. - Geneseo won its ninth straight and 19th overall State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's cross country title, Saturday at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome. New Paltz finished second and Cortland placed third.

Geneseo senior Genny Corcoran (Syracuse, N.Y.) won the 6K race in 22:08.8 and her teammate Mariellen Penzer (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was second while New Paltz's Emily Cavanagh (Warwick, N.Y.) placed third.

2019 Cross Country Hall of Fame Inductees

Enshrinement into the Hall of Fame is attained by meeting one of the following three criteria:

Finishing in the Top 5 during one championship
Finishing in the Top 10 during two championships
Finishing in the Top 15 during three championships

Elite 20 

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year's winner is a junior from New Paltz, Cassandra Williams (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.)
